The Johns-Manville World Headquarters is located on a 400-acre site in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains outside of Denver. The 750,000 s.f. building stretches 1,100 feet across the valley floor. This design is the winner of a national competition. The gleaming aluminum skin and mirrored windows contrast dramatically with the surrounding landscape. Concealed parking for 1,700 cars is located to the rear of the building and on the roof. The building received The American Institute of Architects’ Honor Award in 1979. This building design was developed for Manville Corporation by the Principals of Architecture International when they were Principals of The Architects Collaborative.
