PLANNING

The Community For Jubail Industrial Complex
Jubail, Saudi Arabia

Working jointly with a London planning firm, The Architects Collaborative, TAC, was responsible for the urban design, including identifying the program and land take for all aspects of the complex. TAC was also responsible for the architectural components of the master plan for Jubail, a new city of 375,000 people. The city, which would occupy an 8,000-hectare (20,000-acre) site on the Persian Gulf, was to be built in conjunction with a major new deep-water port and industrial complex. The Principals of Architecture International were involved in this master plan when they were Principals of The Architects Collaborative.
